Our History
In 1953, Vincent Fister, Sr. purchased a small moving company in Lexington, KY, with just one truck and a small warehouse. By 1968, the company earned United Van Lines’ highest honor for the largest sales increase. It relocated to a state-of-the-art 50,000 sq. ft. facility on Palumbo Drive.
Over the years, we expanded into commercial warehousing, international relocation, and rail car logistics. We became the first in Central Kentucky to introduce wooden pallet storage containers. We also introduced air-ride moving vans. Today, our 150,000 sq. ft. storage facilities house Fister Distribution, Inc., Vincent Fister, Inc., and Safeway Moving and Storage, Inc., making us a leader in regional warehousing and logistics.
